As students return to class for the 2017-2018 school year, Vrana Construction crews continue to work at Sunset Hills Elementary as part of Westside’s Major Facilities Plan.
For the remainder of August:
- Families who attend or live nearby Sunset Hills should expect concrete block delivery trucks accessing the site through the neighborhood to deliver heavy equipment as well as brick for masonry walls.
- Final steel deliveries are taking place this month; neighbors and families at Sunset should expect flat-bed delivery trucks as steel is transported to the site and installed. Roofing materials are also being delivered to the site.
- Sewer work is now complete on the west side of the site near the pool. Concrete will be replaced in the west parking area. A new parking approach is also included; neighbors and families should expect grading equipment and concrete trucks accessing the site.
- As work continues, neighbors and families will see more heavy activity from construction dumpster delivery trucks and haul away services. Most trucks will access the site on 94th Street from Pacific. Other traffic may use 96th Street because of the traffic light at Pacific.
