Greg Losh, a District carpenter, recalled another Westside remodeling job as he adjusted locks in the lower level of the Westside Community Conference Center. In the mid-1980s, Losh worked for the company that converted the then-Arbor Heights Junior High into Westside Middle School. Losh, now 53, has worked for the District for 28 years. “Every building in the District was built or under construction when I was born,” he said. Losh and a handful of contractors were working this week to complete last-minute tasks as movers wheeled cartloads of books and classroom materials into rooms that Monday will house the Westside High School West Campus. Teachers were beginning to unpack and arrange classrooms. Demolition will soon begun on the now-clear upstairs classrooms to prepare the space to house the Oakdale Swing School next fall while construction begins on a new Oakdale Elementary.
